The Southern California Society for the Study of American Women Writers (SCSSAWW) is a collegial, non-hierarchical study group, founded in 2008. We are affiliated with the Society for the study of American Women Writers (SSAWW), the American Literature Association (ALA), and the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA). Our primary meeting format is focused, moderated discussions of research topics related to the study of texts written by American women in the nineteenth century. We welcome all who are interested.
Upcoming Meeting on March 11, 2012, as California State University, Dominguez Hills, noon to 3:30 p.m.
Our next meeting will take place at CSUDH on Sunday, March 11, 2012. We will discuss Clarence by Catharine Maria Sedgwick (recommended edition: Melissa J. Homestead and Ellen A. Foster, eds., Broadview Press, 2011).
